a letter…

10 Apr

Dear Sister,

Do you remember that time that we went to Prince Edward Island on our dreamy dream vacation? Remember how we were trying to decide who was going to be Anne and who was going to be her bosom friend Diana? Remember how we both graciously offered to be Anne? Remember how we decided that there really can’t be two Annes and I even more graciously offered you the role of Moody Spurgeon McPherson? Remember how you growled and I grinned my evil grin?

The point is, I think we’re an interesting combination. I think you get a double dose of Anne when you’re with us (which is, perhaps, why we’re called The Anne Girls). We’re highly unbalanced (wait… did I just say that?) We’re delightful – of course – but not normal. Most dynamic duos have more of a ying and a yang. We’re just really yingy. Now I’m not saying that we don’t have our differences – we do! But we’re both redheads at the core.

And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Hmmm… now that I’ve figured that out, I’m hungry for pancakes.

Great post! I’ve always dreamed/wanted to go to PEI ever since I was little and first watched AOGG when I was in 2nd grade. That’s awesome you both love the books so much. Have you seen the new version of AOGG that came out? I watched the intro video about it and about burst into tears. The little actress they picked I felt over did her acting…and you can’t ever replace Megan Follows. It’s just isn’ t the same.

Hey Heather – thanks for reading! You should DEFINITELY go to PEI… we loved it and are planning to return someday!!!! As for the new movie, I haven’t seen it, but I have a hard time imagining Anne as anyone but Megan Follows… she’s the perfect Anne!

[...] Now I have to admit, as I turned on the film recently to do my extensive research for this post, my heart started pitter-pattering wildly with just a few bars of that opening song… the cameras panned the gorgeous Prince Edward Island sand dunes… the memories of a certain vacation… [...]
